Paula is an avid conservationist and serves as one of Bloomfield’s representatives to the Lower Farmington River and Salmon Brook Wild & Scenic Study Committee. Paula retired in 2012 having spent the majority of her working career in the insurance industry. Paula is a past President of the Actuaries’ Club of Hartford and Springfield. She led that organization’s three-year process to become certified to provide continuing education credits by the national actuarial organization, the American Academy of Actuaries. She is a member of the towns Conservation, Energy, and Environment Committee (CEEC) and Parks and Recreation Committee.
Paula and her husband, Kevin Gough, are stewards for the Land Trust’s Thrall Farm property in Windsor. Both are interested in re-building sustainable local communities, including increasing the availability of locally-produced food. As a native of Maine, Paula grew up playing in the woods and believes in the restorative power of being outdoors. Hiking is one of her favorite activities.
